If Anyone Still Cares... this is why I blog

Ahh.. It does one's heart good to see their work being used to whack conservatives in the head with facts! When I started this blog it was to be my repository of material to debate neocons in the online world. The "Blog This" button was just so convenient, and there was no de.li.ci.ous around to share bookmarks with my liberal buddies. Almost 40,000 hits later it is cool to see it is still a good source to trounce a neocon with facts... Whack-a-con used to be one of my favorite online sports. Now it's like shooting fish in a barrel. What's the point ? They are just mindless zombies -- law

Neocon: One wonders how the MSM continues to put out articles that are basically completely lies. Same with the A.P. article that supposedly shows Bush was warned about the levee "breaches" before he said that the breaches weren't anticipated. Of course, that article is a complete lie - the video in question only shows warning about overtopping, not breaches

Translation:see, poor bushie wooshie is not to blame... overtopping is not a big deal, it's not like it's goint to drown the city in toxic waters.. Oh wait a minute. It does mean that ? Well, anyway, it's not BREACHES so bushie wooshie is still in the clear.. It's not like it's his job to take care of those things.. It is ? Still, the video doesn't say BREACHES ....-- (The lengths a neocon's mind contorts to absolve Bush of his crimes! The issue was not breeching versus topping. The issue was preparedness to help people in New Orleans and elsewhere.) -- law

"the video in question only shows warning about overtopping, not breaches"

Al's point of course is that this video does not prove Bush was warned of the levee breaches. Because that, of course, is what's important: whether this video tape proves it.

The actual fact that Bush was indeed warned about potential levee breaches (and so was lying when he said "no one anticipated the levee breaches") is so minor and inconsequential only a rabid left-wing partisan could attach even the slightest significance to it. It's not in the video, you see.

Washington Post - Jan 24, 2006; Page A02

In the 48 hours before Hurricane Katrina hit, the White House received detailed warnings about the storm's likely impact, including eerily prescient predictions of breached levees, massive flooding, and major losses of life and property, documents show.

A 41-page assessment by the Department of Homeland Security's National Infrastructure Simulation and Analysis Center (NISAC), was delivered by e-mail to the White House's "situation room," the nerve center where crises are handled, at 1:47 a.m. on Aug. 29, the day the storm hit, according to an e-mail cover sheet accompanying the document.

The NISAC paper warned that a storm of Katrina's size would "likely lead to severe flooding and/or levee breaching" and specifically noted the potential for levee failures along Lake Pontchartrain....

Can't Brian see that "BREACHES wasn't in the video" so this means bushie wooshie is still the best leader a mindless drone can find ? -- law (ghost writing for trounced neocon)
