O When The Rains -- Ode to Katrina's victims

Here's the song that Andrew Boyd and other protesters belted out in front of the house of Grover Norquist, the mastermind behind the "drown the government in a bathtub" anti-tax movement:

O When The Rains

O when the rains began to pour
O when the rains began to pour,
There was no one to protect us
Cause we had sent them off to war!

O when the flood began to rise
O when the flood began to rise,
We all knew that it was coming,
But Mister Bush just closed his eyes!

So many poor were left to drown
So many poor were left to drown,
Mister Bush was on vacation
When that Katrina came to town!

So many lives were swept aside
So many lives were swept aside,
It must never be forgotten
The day they perished in the tide!

Let's get the troops and bring them back
Let's get the troops and bring them back.
We need them here to help our country
Instead of dying in Iraq.

O when the rains no longer fall
O when the rains no longer fall,
We've got to build a new New Orleans
that has a better life for all!
