Someone please tell Saddam Jalal Talibani, Kurdish leader, Peshmerga fighter...is now the PRESIDENT OF IRAQ!!! WOW!!! HOW COOL!

Common Ground Common Sense poster heart says

Okay. I can't contain myself . You guys do know that Saddam tried his hardest to eliminate Kurds from the face of the planet right? He displaced them, took their land and property and chased them into certain areas where they could not get food. He kidnapped Kurdish girls and young women and sold them to Egyptian and Saudi rich guys for prostitution. He offered several amnesty programs but they were fake and he imprisoned and mass executed the ones that turned themselves in. Chemical Ali got his name for his PLANNED gassing of the Kurds, and it was not just once, nor one year, it was over many years. He almost succeeded in eliminating them from Iraq. The farmland, animals, plants and people still suffer from a lot of birth defects from the chemicals (a Dutch company is now being sued for selling the most toxic ones to Saddam). Saddam mass transfered Arabs to Kurdish areas for resettlement called arabization. He transfered many Kurds to live in Southern Iraq or even Fallujah where they changed their names to Arab names, and learned to speak ONLY Arabic because to do otherwise would be suicidal. They had to hide any expression of Kurdish identity....now mind you, Kurds have been in the same place for 1000's of years. They were originally Zoroastrians, the first monotheistic (well Duotheistic actually) religions. Abraham was born there, and sent back there for a his son's bride Rebecca. Saladin was a Kurd too!

Now, the man that Saddam tried to kill. The man who represents the people that he tried to exterminate...has the title of Saddam Hussein. Jalal Talibani, Kurdish leader, Peshmerga fighter...is now the PRESIDENT OF IRAQ!!! WOW!!! HOW COOL!

Someone please tell Saddam
